Hurricane Melissa was the strongest storm of 2025 and caused devastation across many parts of Jamaica. Families lost their homes, and thousands of people were left without power, food, or anywhere safe to stay.
Working alongside Food For The Poor and Rotary International, ShelterBox has supported thousands of people with shelter kits, blankets, mosquito nets, water carriers, and solar lights – completing 21 distributions in just 50 days.
ShelterBox were among the first teams to reach many of these hard‑to‑access areas, helping families begin to recover and rebuild.
Data collection and evaluations are now underway so we can continue improving our response and support those who need it most.
