The governance of Verwood Rotary Club follows the principles and structure established by Rotary International, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective leadership.

The club operates as a registered charity and is managed by a dedicated team of volunteers, including an elected President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Chairs. These individuals oversee the club’s activities, finances, and community initiatives, ensuring that Verwood Rotary remains aligned with its mission of “Service Above Self.”

Each year, the club elects a new President, who serves a one-year term. The President is responsible for leading meetings, coordinating events, and representing the club at Rotary functions. Supporting the President is the Club Council, which includes officers and committee leaders responsible for different aspects of Rotary’s work, such as community service, fundraising, youth programmes, and membership development. This governance structure ensures that decisions are made collectively, with input from all members.

As a registered charity, Verwood Rotary is also accountable to the Charity Commission, submitting financial reports and ensuring that funds raised from events, such as the annual Rustic Fayre, are allocated effectively to local and international causes. Regular club meetings and an Annual General Meeting (AGM) allow members to review progress, propose new initiatives, and elect future leaders. The club operates with a commitment to integrity, inclusivity, and service, making governance a key element in its long-standing success within the Verwood community.
