The Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal is one of the UK’s most recognisable and vital fundraising campaigns. Held annually every March, the appeal encourages people to wear the iconic yellow daffodil pin in exchange for a donation. These funds provide critical support for people living with terminal illnesses and their families, ensuring they receive expert nursing care and emotional support during their most difficult moments.
In a wonderful display of community spirit, the Verwood Rotary recently set up a collection point at Morrisons to support this cause. Through their dedicated efforts and the generosity of local residents, the group successfully collected £300 on behalf of Marie Curie. This contribution will go directly toward funding end-of-life care and the tireless work of Marie Curie Nurses who provide comfort both in hospices and in patients’ own homes.
A Heartfelt Thank You
The Verwood Rotary and Marie Curie would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone in Verwood who contributed to this collection.

To the donors: Your loose change and generous donations add up to make a massive difference in someone’s quality of life.
To the volunteers: Your time and energy on the frontline are what make these fundraising totals possible.
To the local businesses: Thank you for your continued support and for welcoming our collectors.
Every penny of that £300 helps ensure that no one has to face a terminal illness alone. Your kindness is truly appreciated!
