The 2025 Verwood Rustic Fayre was a resounding success, with attendees enjoying a glorious day of sunshine and community spirit at Potterne Park.
Families flocked to the event on the August Bank Holiday, making the most of the hot weather and the wide array of activities on offer. The vibrant atmosphere was a testament to the fayre’s enduring popularity, as it provided a perfect alternative to a crowded day at the beach.

The fayre’s traditional formula proved to be a huge hit, with a jam-packed schedule of events keeping everyone entertained. A particular highlight was the strong emphasis on all things dog-related, from the popular dog show and agility displays to the chaotic but hilarious terrier racing and the “Come Bye” sheepdog and duck display. Other arena events included a Tae-Kwon-Do demonstration, a classic vehicle show, and a tug of war.
Visitors also had the opportunity to browse a wide variety of stalls featuring handcrafted goods and local produce, as well as enjoying a host of live music performances from groups like Verwood Concert Brass and The Purple Parrots. The day concluded with the much-loved duck race on the River Crane and an egg-catching event, all contributing to a fun-filled day that raised money for local and international charities.
