The BEACH building at Royal Bournemouth Hospital is a new, six-storey healthcare facility that represents a major investment in the region’s health services.
The acronym BEACH stands for Births, Emergency, And Critical care, children’s Health, reflecting the key departments it houses. The building has been designed to modernise and enhance patient care by consolidating various services, including a new maternity and neonatal unit, a larger emergency department, a critical care unit, and a children’s health department. This consolidation is a significant part of a broader transformation plan to establish Royal Bournemouth Hospital as the major emergency hospital for Dorset. The new facilities aim to improve patient experience with features such as private rooms, birthing pools, and dedicated spaces for families and visitors, while also improving clinical efficiency by having key departments co-located.
Verwood Rotary donated £1000 which together with other Rotary Clubs in the area resulted in £10,000 being donated to support the health and wellbeing of the areas children.
