VERWOOD – The spirit of community service is alive and well in Verwood, as the local Rotary Club officially welcomes a fresh wave of members into its ranks.
While many service organisations across the country are seeing a decline, Verwood Rotary is bucking the trend. The recent induction of new members highlights a growing desire among residents to connect with their neighbours and make a tangible difference in the town they call home.
More Than Just a Meeting
For the unaware, Rotary might conjure images of formal dinners and long meetings, but the modern Verwood club is anything but stuffy. Meeting twice a month, the group focuses on a straightforward mission: Giving something back.
From organising local charity events to supporting youth initiatives and environmental projects, the club serves as the “boots on the ground” for Verwood’s most pressing needs.
“Joining wasn’t just about charity for me,” says one of the club’s newest members. “It was about finding a group of people who actually care about the place they live. We have a laugh, we share ideas, and then we get to work making things better.”
